CHICKEN VARUVAL

Salam n selamt pagi sume :-),

Dah beberapa hari ni cuaca panasssss yg amat kdg tu mcm nak berendam jer dlm air 24 jam hihihi.... bila dah mandi tak reti2 nak kuar awal :D, Hari ni nk kuar g carik charger lah sbb esok hari jumaat dah malas nak kuar2, jdnyer kuar hari ni tak ramai org sgt biasanyer hari jumaat ramai org.. Semalam malam2 buat last ronda2 nmpk ayam ni kat umah LOVE2COOK, so tgk bhn2 dia pun bukan main senang masaknyer pun tak leceh ehehehe... terus salin n apa lg pagi ni masak lerr :D selain tu buat menu sampingan bentou untuk kakak n abang..jdnyer yg kita skip td ni cayenne itu jer yg lain2 ikut dlm resepi.. honestly mmg sedap! tak sangka tgk bhn2 dia tu kan biasa2 jer tp gabungan serai daun kari(tggl kurang dr segenggam huhuhu.. ) mmg hasilkan rasa dgn aroma yg lain byk2 lauk ayam kan ni rasa dia lain sikit.. Menurut sis LOVE resepi ni berasal dr south indian dan kebanyakkanyer ayam2 jenis mcm ni mmg jarang2 sekali buat atau kita yg jakun kun?? hihihi... CHICKEN VARUVAL

Ingredients :~
  • 1 whole chicken ~ cleaned and cut into smaller pieces
  • 3 tbsp garlic-ginger paste
  • 2 tbsp chilli powder ( may also add some curry powder)
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 8 dried chillies ~ cut into pieces
  • 2 onions ~ sliced/cut into rings
  • 2 sprigs curry leaves
  • 2 lemongrass ~ crushed
  • 1 pc cinnamon stick
  • 2 pcs star anise
  • 2 pcs cardamoms
  • 1/2 tsp fennel seeds
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp grounded blackpepper
  • salt to taste
  • oil for frying



Kaler dia pelik sikit tp rasa luar biasa must try! ;-)

Cooking Method :~

  1. Marinate chicken pieces with garlic-ginger paste, chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt for 20 mins.
  2. Heat oil in wok, fry marinated chicken till cooked and set aside.
  3. Reduce the remaining oil. Sauté cinnamon stick, star anises, cardamoms, fennel and cumin seeds till fragrant.
  4. Add the sliced onions, dried chillies, lemongrass and curry leaves. Stir till they turn light brown.
  5. Add the fried chicken, blackpepper and lil salt. Mix together. Dish out.
